I am a freelance art director and designer based in Rockford, Michigan. I came from beautiful and bountiful Portland, Oregon, and worked in Seattle and Los Angeles as well. With over 20 years of agency experience on a wide range of clients – my expertise is communicating a consistent and effective brand message over all channels, including; video, digital, social and print. The thing I’ve discovered from working in small to mid-size agencies most of my career, is the ability to wear many hats.
In 2017, I decided to make a career shift and explore more opportunities in the visual arts as a freelance designer. As fate would have it, my wife received a job offer from Merrell footwear, and in 2018 we moved to Rockford, Michigan, where we literally have gravel roads and mountain biking trails at our doorstep. As a lifelong cyclist, this move has been better than I could have ever imagined. Rockford has a rich cycling community and is also the home of Vie 13 custom apparel. Currently, I am working part-time as a freelance apparel designer with Vie 13, and have found that designing bike kits both a natural extension of my interests in biking and design.
I am a husband, father, cancer survivor and dog lover of two Australian Shepards. Favorites: beer: Russian River Pliny the Elder; food: F’nK Tacos (Rockford); music; Wilco, (and) Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds; bike shop: Rockford Bike Shop; comedy; Ted Lasso.
